Leading transport technology firm Forward Solutions (FS) is again expanding its team with the appointment of an additional infrastructure engineer, with a decade of experience boosting its team and service to customers.
Dan Clarke already has experience in IT and the logistics sector having started his career within the IT team at well-known pallet specialist Pall-Ex. He was also Senior IT Engineer at a specialist software supplier to the hotel and events industry and thus appreciates how vital speed of response and performance is to end-users.
Already this year Forward Solutions has seen a 15 percent growth in new business, as the logistics and transport industry looks to utilise new technology to power up its supply chain. To support this, Forward Solutions is developing its team and Dan’s appointment follows that of two new Customer Success Managers over the past six months.
Dan was particularly attracted to Forward Solutions as an established operator within the freight and logistics industry that is investing in innovation by bringing customers quality, software solutions and continually applying improvement through development of its products as the industry evolves.
He comments:
“As an IT professional, it’s important to continue to strive to learn, develop, and improve on the knowledge and skillset. This role enable me to further my knowledge of Linux distributions as well as being able to utilise my expertise within the core infrastructure umbrella. I am looking forward to being an integral part of the FS team and making an impact within the business as well as working in collaboration with my colleagues to work on exciting projects, providing excellent support and delivering solutions to meet the needs of its customers.”
Investment in IT by freight and transport operators has heightened since the pandemic, as businesses look to new technology to streamline their operations and communicate more effectively with customers.
Dan adds:
“I have always taken an interest in the development and innovation of the tech industry as it continually proves itself to evolve every year. A lot has changed over the last 10 years since I have been working in the sector, from businesses moving their datacentre to the cloud, to using on-site virtualisation or hybrid technology, to AI and machine learning.’
With the massive and continued sector growth in technologies, Forward Solutions is investing to support its customer this includes the development of a new user interface (UI) which is about to be launched. The firm has invested £3/4 million and 3,000-working hours in the development of this new technology – Forward’s most significant single investment to date – to ensure that its software is fully intuitive and easy to use.
